The students at Pensby High School with additional educational needs have the same expected outcomes and aspirations as other students without additional educational needs. We are an inclusive school and we work hard to ensure that resources and support within the classroom and outside of it are carried out in a way that does not ostracise the student or make them feel different. Students with additional educational needs are able to access the curriculum and work alongside their peers rather than being segregated and isolated. The students with additional educational needs are successful at Pensby High School.
There is no set answer to this question. Every student’s individual needs are taken into consideration alongside the prior data and information received from the primary school. The level of support we deem appropriate will be implemented and parents/carers informed.
We have two full-time Progress Mentors and one part-time who provide support within the classroom primarily for students with additional funding from the local authority.
The SEND policy and SEND information report can be found on our website. This will give a full overview of the provision offered at Pensby High School.
